Prime accused of Batadrova incident arrested in Darrang

MANGALDAI: The absconding mastermind of the recent torching and vandalizing of Batadrova Police Station in Nagaon district was finally arrested from a remote village of Darrang district on Thursday night.

The prime absconding accused, Allauddin of village Batmari of Boligutia Gaon Panchayat in Nagaon district, immediately after torching the police station fled away to Darrang district by crossing the River Brahmaputra on a mechanized country boat and took shelter in the residence of his relatives.

Acting on a tip-off, Darrang Superintendent of Police Raj Mohan Ray instructed the Officer in-charge of Dhula Police Station to extend all cooperation to Nagaon Police who came to Mangaldai in search of the absconding prime accused.

The police team gave a hot chase for about 5 km before finally apprehending the accused. The Nagaon Police meanwhile, have taken custody of Allauddin, who is also involved in a number of criminal cases, including trafficking of drugs and robbery cases in the areas of Nagaon district.
