Programme to strengthen seed system of farmers conducted

LAKHIMPUR: A training programme on Quality Seed Production was conducted by Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Lakhimpur under the aegis of Assam Agribusiness and Rural Transformation Project (APART) on Friday. The programme mainly aims at empowering farmers to strengthen their seed system, which will ensure disease free quality seeds in their cropfields.

A total of 25 farmers from various blocks of the district participated in the training programme. MouchumiDutta, the Project Associate of APART enriched the farmers with the knowledge of the scientific procedures of seed selection as well as demonstrated the procedure of scientific seed treatment. BrishtiSaikia, Assistant Project Scientist, APART of KVK, Lakhimpur also put forward an informative lecture in the programme.
