NAGAON: Dr P Jayasimha, Project Director of Chandrayaan-5, and a prominent scientist of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), was felicitated by various organizations in Nagaon on Saturday here. Dr Jayasimha, who was passing through Nagaon on his way back from official work in Arunachal Pradesh, was warmly welcomed by several institutions at Nagaon here.
The felicitation ceremony, organized by institutions such as the Nagaon Rashtriya Swayamsevaks Sangha, Rotary Club, Lions Club, Sangeet Shilpi Mancha, Nepali Sahitya Parishad, Nagaon Zilla Kobi Sanmilan, Khagarijan College, Sur Sadhana Sangeet Mahavidyalaya, Maruwari Sanmilan, and others, showcased the town’s appreciation for Dr Jayasimha’s contributions to India’s space programme.
During the ceremony, Dr Jayasimha shared his insights on the Chandrayaan-5 mission, highlighting the team’s efforts to perfect the spacecraft’s trajectory and landing technology. He expressed optimism about the mission’s potential to send humans to the Moon and return safely. The event was attended by prominent citizens, including Dr Dhananjay Kushre, Nava Kumar Mahanta, Titeswar Bora, Nava Borkatoki, Dr Ramesh Nath, Munindra Goswami, Joon Rajkhuwa, Ajoy Mittal, Paban Sarma, Aman Dachani, Madan Saha, Mahashre Bordoloi, Nipan Das, Honey Bora, and others.
During his visit to Nagaon, Dr Jayasimha also interacted with the students from Morigaon College, sharing his experiences and inspiring the young minds.
The felicitation ceremony was a testament to the town’s admiration for Dr Jayasimha’s achievements and his contributions to India’s scientific community.
