Protest against delay in construction of bridge at Jagibhakatgaon, Jagiroad

MORIGAON: In protest against the delay in construction of the concrete bridge over the river Kapili at Jagibhakatgaon, Jagiroad, Morigaon District Committee of Lachit Sena on Friday came down heavily on the State Government.

The organization led by president Sapun Asom and secretary Dipmoni Hira on Friday staged a sit-in at Jagibhakatgaon. The organization shouted slogans against minister Piyush Hazarika for not addressing public grievances. The organization said that communication from Morigaon via Jagiroad to Guwahati was going on through the old bridge since long due to non-construction of the bridge. But the old bridge was posing a serious threat to commuters. The organization urged the minister to start construction of the concrete bridge immediately over the river. More than 200 activists took part in the protest.
