Rare species of turtle rescued in Kalaigaon

KALAIGAON: A rare species of turtle was rescued from Balipara in Kulshi River on Thursday noon and released in Lakhshimpur Fishery. The weight of the tortoise was around 15 kg. It was caught in the Kulshi river by a fisherman namely Bubul Boro while he was fishing in the river. After that, he informed the forest personnel through a local journalist and later handed it over to forest officials of Kalaigaon. It was set free in the fresh water of Lakhshimpur Fishery under Kalaigaon revenue circle by the forest officials.
