Ratna Khiteswar Sarma passes away in Udalguri

UDALGURI: Khiteswar Sarma, retired teacher, literary pensioner and correspondent, passed away at the age of 81. He had written books like Alop Panir Mas and Moi Jen Sakluke Manuhar Sakure Sab Paro. He was born on February 21, 1939 at Nahorbari village of Deomoronoi in Darrang district. He was appointed as a teacher at Golmagaon LP School and he settled permanently at Rangamokha in Udalguri. He had received the State teacher’s award in 1995. He was the founder of Udalguri Press Club and Udalguri district Sahitya Sabha. He was conferred the title of Udalguri Ratna by Udalguri district Sahitya Sabha.
