NAGAON: The Nagaon district administration has temporarily banned all recreational activities, including picnics, at the Hadhadi waterfall located in Lungchung tea garden under Kaliabor revenue circle, approximately 35 kilometres away from Nagaon town.

According to the directive issued by Nagaon District Commissioner Debashish Sarma, several accidents and fatalities have occurred at this tourist spot and picnic area in the past. As per the safety concerns and the fact that most visitors are students and young people, the District Commissioner has promulgated section 163 of the Indian Citizen Safety Code Act to temporarily ban recreational activities such as bathing and swimming.

As per office memorandum No. NRAD 01/2016/378-(A), all private vehicles heading to Hadhadi waterfalls via Lungchung tea garden have been prohibited.
