Registration camp “Jorhat Tea E-marketplace” held at Golaghat

JORHAT: The registration process for “Jorhat Tea E-marketplace” has started from Tuesday. In this regard a registration camp was held today at Golaghat at the office of the NorthEastern Tea Association (NETA). Many members of NETA have registered their tea estates and tea processing units in presence of officials from “mjunction” and Tea Board. It needs to be mentioned here that Tea Board India has recognised “mjunction” to set-up a new tea auction platform at Jorhat. mjunction is India’s largest B2B eCommercecompany. It also runs the world’s largest eMarketplace for steel. mjunction is a 50:50 venture promoted by SAIL and Tata Steel, stated a press release.

All tea buyers and tea producers having valid TMCO [Tea (Marketing) and ControlOrder] can register online (emarketplace.teaboard.gov.in). Similar camps have been organised by mjunction at Dibrugarh on Jan 22 and at Jorhat on Jan 23. This new tea auction centre at Jorhat will be technically different from the existing tea auction centres at Guwahati, Siliguri, Japaiguri, Coimbatore, Coonoor and Kochi. It is expected that the new auction centre will start functioning from the coming tea season.
