MANGALDAI: “Nobody can make you inferior unless you allow them to do so. All students are unique and if you take up a career on the basis of your quality that makes you unique, you will be successful,” said National Award for Teachers recipient teacher Remya Parameswar Iyer while interacting with inquisitive students at Brilliant Academy on Tuesday.

Remya Parameswar Iyer, currently serving in Kendriya Vidyalaya, IIT Guwahati, and recipient of Fulbright scholarship in 2014, took part in an interaction with the students as the chief guest. In recognition to her yeomen’s service as a teacher, the Government of India last year had honoured her with the prestigious National Award for Teachers and she is the only teacher of Kendriya Vidyalaya of the country to be nominated for this prestigious award.

Taking part in the interaction, she advised the students to be confident in their attitude and behaviour in all aspects of life. “Confidence can never be attained in a day or two, it requires regular practice with dedication to earn the confidence,” she added. Attending the interaction for the first time in an institution of repute in Darrang district, Fulbright scholarship recipient scholar Remya Parameswar Iyer also urged the students to concentrate always on the qualities they had, not on the qualities they did not have. “Be creative in your thoughts, deeds and ideas, be fluent in your mother language and make critical analysis to be strong and confident on your resolutions on the basis of your qualities,” she advised the students during her interaction with the students.

Another teacher of national repute, Shashangka Hazarika of Dahi HS School, who was also conferred with the prestigious National Award for Teachers in 2019, also took part in the interaction and offered valuable suggestions to the students. Principal of Brilliant Academy

Jamuna Saharia Kalita, while taking part in the interaction, expressed her gratitude to both the teachers of national repute for sparing their time from their busy schedule to take part in the programme.
