Renowned advocate Arifa Islam passes away at 43; Sivasagar mourns loss

Arifa Islam, a well-known advocate from Masterchuk, Simaluguri in Sivasagar district, passed away on August 2 at a private hospital in Dibrugarh after battling for her life for six days. She was 43.

SIVASAGAR: Arifa Islam, a well-known advocate from Masterchuk, Simaluguri in Sivasagar district, passed away on August 2 at a private hospital in Dibrugarh after battling for her life for six days. She was 43.

With over a decade of experience in the legal profession, Arifa Islam was widely respected in the legal and local community. She is survived by her husband, a daughter studying in Class IX, three sisters-in-law, and other relatives and well-wishers.

Her untimely demise cast a pall of gloom over the region. Several organizations expressed deep sorrow at her passing, including the Sivasagar Bar Association, Nazira Sub-Divisional Bar Association, Simaluguri Press Guild, Ujoni Axom Muslim Kalyan Parishad, Nazira Sadar Mosque Management Committee, Simaluguri Masterchuk Mosque Committee, and Simaluguri Juba Jamaat.

Her funeral prayer (Janaza) was held at the Simaluguri Masterchuk Public Janaza Moidan on Saturday in the presence of a large number of admirers.
