Renowned litterateur Joy Kanta Gondhia passes away in Dibrugarh

TINSUKIA: Joy Kanta Gondhia, renowned litterateur and author of several books and Bihu exponent, passed away at AMC&H Dibrugarh on Monday.

Gonghia, a resident of Digboi, was president of Tinsukia District Xahitya Xabha for two terms. He was 78. Though Gondhia was suffering from other ailments, he was once tested COVID positive. Arjun Baruah, president of Tinsukia District Xahitya Xabha, while expressing deep shock at his demise, requested all branches of Xahitya Xabha in Tinsukia district to keep the Axom Xahitya Xabha flag at half-mast on Monday as a mark of respect to the departed soul.
