GUWAHATI: According to sources in the state education department, the results for the state's Class X board will probably be released by the end of this month, while those for Class XII may be released in the third week of June.

In an effort to minimise the impact of the question paper leak, the Board of Secondary Education Assam (Seba), which received criticism for cancelling the Class X general science and Assamese language exams, plans to release the results early.

However, this year, the state board would announce the class ten results before the central board, claimed Assam's Minister of Education, Ranoj Pegu.

"We are going ahead with plans to announce the Class X board results this month (May) itself. The evaluation of the answer scripts has already been done. Software-related works for compilation of the results are in full swing," senior official of SEBA told to the media.

Although the date for the declaration of the Class XII results has not yet been determined, it is the intention to declare them by June 20, according to sources from the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC).

Furthermore, SEBA officials have stated that the board has acquired new software that will be utilised to maintain the marks once the scripts have been evaluated. This is anticipated to aid the board in the prompt release of results. It is unknown how much of a delay will be brought on by the two question papers being postponed from the scheduled publishing date of the results at the beginning of May.

Additionally, the officials stated that the new software is intended to record the grades right away following the review and inspection of the scripts in various districts. This lessens the quantity of paperwork required for the result declaration process, which cuts down on the amount of time required.

The results for class 10 were announced by the state board in the first week of June of the previous year. If the postponement had not happened, they were preparing to forward the timetable this year by a month.
