Rev Fr Khulandai Samy felicitates renowned artistes in Kokrajhar

KOKRAJHAR: Synchronizing with the golden jubilee celebration of ordination of Rev. Fr. Khulandai Samy as Priest of Catholic Church, renowned artistes of the Bodos, who acted in the Bodo film Basiram Jwhwlao, produced by Swdwmshree Harimu Afad and run by Fr. Khulandai, were felicitated with traditional Aronai on Tuesday in their respective houses.The artiste who were felicitated by Rev. Fr. Khulandai and his associates from Dularai Boro Ccatholic Ansai Afad (DBCAA) included Tikendrajit Narzary (renowned Bodo film actor), Dr Mongalsing Hazowary, Meghnath Mashahary and Binay Borgoyary. Father Samy wrote the story after studying the history of Basiram Jwhwlao.

Rev. Fr. Khulandai Samy has made great contributions in the field of Bodo language, literature, art and culture, music and traditions. Though he is a missionary, he worked a lot to preserve Bodo history, culture, music and art.

For his relentless service and dedication to Bodo art, culture, language, literature, music and traditions, the All Bodo Catholic Welfare Association, along with Swdwmshree Harimu Afad, felicitated and honoured Rev Fr. Khulandai Samy on the occasion of his 50 years of service as priest. The felicitation programme was held at Zubi Rest House, Gwjwnpuri in Bongaigaon on December 4.
