MANGALDAI: The week-long celebration of National Road safety Week, 2023 has been observed in Darrang district with a detailed programme to create awareness on road safety measures. The closing function has been organised on Tuesday at the premises of Bhebarghat Public bus stand at Mangaldai in Darrang district on Tuesday.

Deputy Commissioner Pranab Kumar Sarma, former Mangaldai legislator Guru Jyoti Das, Additional Superintendent of Police (HQ) Nirupam Hazarika, Deputy Supdt of Police (HQ) Pranjal Bora and Joint Director of Health Services Dr. Priti Saikia along with other stakeholders of District Road Safety Committee and Path Suraksha Mitra attended the closing function. In the function anchored by District Transport Officer Gautam Das, Deputy Commissioner Pranab Kumar Sarma made an appeal to the public to abide by the MV acts and rules strictly to ensure the safety and security of their lives and distributed the prizes to the successful participating students in the art competition. Further, an eye check-up camp was also organised at the closing function. A bike rally with the participation of the officials of the Excise and Transport Department was also arranged.
