Rongali Bihu celebrated by All Assam Unemployed Association in Lakhimpur district

LAKHIMPUR: The Lakhimpur district unit of All Assam Unemployed Association (AAUA) ceremonially celebrated the Rongali Bihu this year too with a day-long programme. In this connection, the organization organized Keteki-2022 on Sunday like the previous years.

The agenda of the event began with the unfurling of the Bihu flag by celebration committee president Ramani Dutta while secretary Partha Das conducted the swahid tarpan programme. As part of the event, the organization felicitated around 100 personalities of Lakhimpur district, including senior citizens, artistes, literary figures academicians, social workers, media persons appreciating their contribution to the society through their fields of work.

Ramesh Chandra Chutia, the Inspector of Schools, Lakhimpur inaugurated the Bihu and cultural function, in the course of which Saru Bihuwoti and Bor Bihuwoti competitions were also held. In the evening, a colourful cultural programme was organized. It was inaugurated by North Lakhimpur Press Club president Kumud Baruah. In the programme, a host of invited and local artistes presented various cultural items.
