Rs 1,78,500 seized Flying Squad Team in Tezpur

TEZPUR: An amount of Rs. 1, 78,500 was seized by a Flying Squad Team led by Dhrubajyoti Borah and ASI Diganta Nath of Dhekiajuli PS on Thursday morning during checking of vehicles on the National Highway near Alisingha under Dhekiajuli PS in Sonitpur district.

The person carrying the money, hailing from Mazbat in Udalguri district, claimed that he was on his way to make payment in Dhekiajuli but he could not produce valid supporting documents and hence the money was sent to the treasury office, Tezpur after counting. The owner has been asked to produce relevant documents to claim the money back and inquiries are underway.
