JAMUGURIHAT: As part of the year-long celebration of the silver jubilee of Arun Ranga Mancha, a leading socio-cultural, literary and dramatic organisation of greater Barabhuyan village in Sootea, Jyoti Prasad Agarwala’s renowned Assamese drama Rupalim was staged at Arun Ranga Mancha on Friday night.
Naduar MLA Padma Hazarika inaugurated the performance. The drama was directed by an eminent dramatist and noted bhaona artiste, who brought the characters of the historic play to life on stage. Local artistes, including Uddipta Kasturi Bhuyan, Bidyaman Bhuyan, Lohit Bhuyan, Biplab Saikia, Dilip Bhuyan, Puwali Bhuyan, Prashanta Phukan, Joonmani Bhuyan, Himangshu Bhuyan and Mrinal Goswami, portrayed various characters in the drama.
