Sankardev Sishu Vidya Niketan’s Silver jubilee celebration concludes at Gaurisagar

GAURISAGAR: The three-day-long closing function of Jhanji Jamuguri Chandradhar Gogoi Sankardev Sishu Vidya Niketan’s year-long silver jubilee function concluded on October 22.

The first day’s program started with hoisting of silver jubilee flag hoisted by Rajani Kanta Goswami, president of the reception committee. The Smriti tarpan was performed by Bhaben Chetia, social worker. Later, Dr.Anil Kumar Gogoi, retired Principal of Jhanji HNS College, inaugurated the memorial entrance gate of the school followed by plantation sapling initiated by Pranab Goswami, Shrashti, Jhanji Sanskrit Tol. Thereafter, Prodip Hazarika, Principal of Jhanji HS School, opened the door of the book fair while Jyoti Prasad Gogoi, Associate Professor of Jhanji HNS College, inaugurated the door of the exhibition.

The second day’s programme started with release of two books written by two Acharjyas of the school. The books are Aditi Khound’s Kon Kon Mukutar Mon (story book) and Mallika Giri Baruah’s Dahan (poetry book). Tuwaram Khanikar, noted educationist and former Professor, SMD College, Charing, and Ananta Narayan Borthakur, noted poet and senior journalist, released the books. Thereafter, the alumni meet was held.
