RANGIA: Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) is doing excellent work in Assam and Indo-Bhutan border area to eliminate human trafficking and drugs smuggling. Whenever SSB coming across traffickers or drugs smugglers, they have caught and booked them with the help of local police. This was stated by B. Radhika, Additional Director General (ADG), Force Headquarters, Sashastra Seema Bal, New Delhi, while interacting with the media at SSB sector headquarter, Rangia.

The ADG visited SSB sector headquarter and 24 Bn Rangia on Wednesday. On arrival of the ADG at SHQ Rangia, the guard of honour was presented. Thereafter, she was welcomed by Jagdeep Pal Singh, Deputy Inspector General, SHQ, Rangia, Sanjeev Kumar Singh, Second-in Command and other officers and a plant was planted by the ADG in front of the ADMN Block, SHQ Rangia. The traditional Bihu dance of Assam was presented by the local artistes.

During the visit, the ADG SSB interacted with the students, NCC cadets from Kendriya Vidyalaya, Rangia College and the students of Howly who took part in Sadbhavana Yatra. After the visit to Sector Headquarters Rangia, the Additional DG SSB along with other officers left for the 24th Battalion SSB, Rangia, where a Sainik Sammelan was held which was attended by the officers and jawans of 24th Battalion and SHQ Rangia.

Before visiting to SHQ Rangia, the ADG SSB visited Bhutan gate, Border Interaction Team established on Bhutan road and interacted with BIT and also visited BOP Daranga and Nalapara and reviewed the security scenario along the Indo-Bhutan border in view of threat arising from newly-formed extremist groups. During the visit she inaugurated the new building at Nalapara BOP. She directed troops to enhance alertness and maintain constant vigil on the suspicious movement of anti-national forces.

She met eight girls and boys who were rescued from human traffickers and some girls who recently completed vocational training on tailoring conducted by 24 Bn SSB Rangia.
