Science exhibition organized on Albert Einstein’s birth anniversary

MANGALDAI: Gyan Sagar Academy-a newly founded premier academic institution for higher education in Mangaldai, synchronizing with the 141st birth anniversary of Albert Einstein, organized a day-long science exhibition to provide a unique opportunity of learning about the practical application of science and making learning fun.

The Academy organized the exhibition in collaboration with Regional Science Centre, Guwahati. The participating enthusiastic students were highly overwhelmed to see the well-equipped van of mobile science exhibition of the Regional Science Centre in their home town.

“We, in association with the Regional Science Centre, Guwahati, have organized this exhibition on this auspicious day to mark our tribute to Albert Einstein and to dedicate the science exhibition for developing awareness about the practical aspects of science and role of various discoveries of Physics and Chemistry in day-to-day life,” said the director of Gyan Sagar Academy, Dipankar Mahanta in his welcome speech. Two scientists from Regional Science Centre, Nipu Kalita and Bikash Deka demonstrated the use of Bernoulli’s theorem, Pascal’s law and Archimedes’ principle in Aerodynamics branch of Physics along with electromagnetic induction experiments. The magic of Chemistry included the volcanic formation by candy crystals due to exothermic reactions and also invisible writings by action of colour indicator involving reactions between acid and base.

The event was crowned by 20 model demonstrations of real life equipment in the form of pulley, lever, pendulum clock and Hydrostatic balance. A large number of interested students from different schools of the district headquarters town attended the exhibition with tremendous enthusiasm. Inaugurating the exhibition, Mangaldai legislator Gurujyoti Das highly appreciated the initiative of the Academy and hoped that this exhibition would surely remove the barrier from the mindset of the students in learning science. Teacher Alam Ara Begum, media persons Bhargab Kumar Das and Mayukh Goswami, and other dignitaries took part.
