Section 144 CrPC promulgated in Barpeta district

BARPETA: The District Magistrate of Barpeta, Munindra Sarma promulgated Section 144 CrPC in the entire district as precautionary measure against coronavirus. Accordingly, unnecessary assembly of five or more persons in the vicinity of market, financial institutions, banks and recreational parks are prohibited. No meetings, rallies, processions, congregations are allowed as per this rule. No liquor shops, beauty parlour and saloons are allowed to open during these days till March 31. This order will be enforceable with immediate effect and will remain in operation until further order.
