TINSUKIA: To empower women towards sustainable livelihood, the Assam Oil Division of Indian Oil (IOC-AOD) Digboi under its CSR initiative distributed 20 sewing machines costing around Rs 6 lakhs to 20 selected women and widows at a programme held at Golden Jubilee Complex Digboi on Sunday.
The programme was graced by Union Minister of State for Petroleum Rameswar Teli. The dignitaries present in the event were Digboi MLA Suren Phukan, Executive Director and Refinery Chief Debojit Gogoi, Chief General Managers Sushanta Kumar Das and DhanjitBaishya, General Manager (HRD) Kamal Basumatary, Chairman Digboi Municipality Sudip Dutta Choudhury besides other officials. Speaking on the occasion, ED Debojit Gogoi informed that the AOD every year spend Rs 10 to 12 crores under CSR schemes.
