Sivasagar district shines in HSLC examinations

DEMOW/SIVASAGAR: The results of Sivasagar district are satisfactory in the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) examinations announced on Tuesday. Six meritorious students from the district have managed to occupy six of the first 10 places. Two meritorious students have secured the seventh position from the district. Priyanuj Bordoloi, a student of New Look Academy, Sivasagar and Deepshikha Baruah of Demow Girls' High School secured 591 marks and ranked seventh.

On the other hand, Arin Bhuyan of Holi Name School, Sivasagar and Jyotirmoy Dutta of Srimanta Shankardev School, Nitaipukhuri secured the ninth position with 589 marks.

Two students from Sri Sundarmal Modern School, Sivasagar secured the 10th position. Himanshu Das and Raktopal Baruah secured 10th position with 588 marks. A total of 8701 students appeared in the HSLC examinations this year from the district. Out of these, 2,630 have passed in first division, 2958 in second division and 1,475 in third division. The pass percentage is 81.17 per cent.

Meanwhile, a total of 39 students appeared in the High Madrassa Examinations from the district this year, out of which 33 have passed. 19 of the students who have passed out from the district have got second division and 14 have got third division. Not a single examinee has passed in the first division from the district. The pass percentage is 84.62 per cent.
