Six arrested for possession of drugs, banned substances in Dhubri

DHUBRI: On a tip off, Officer-in-charge of Dhubri Police Station, Partha Pratim Gogoi and staff conducted a search operation at GTB Road near Samsan Mandir recently and apprehended one person identified as Md. Samsul Hussain of Bidyapara and recovered 30 Codeine Phosphate Syrup bottles from his possession.

On Tuesday, another drug peddler, Mominur Sikdar (25) was arrested with 20 small containers of brown sugar by Gauripur Police while Biki Dey (32) was arrested with cough syrup bottles.

Similarly, based on secret information, Chapor police conducted a search operation at Puthimari and intercepted one vehicle (AS 17H 1357) and apprehended three persons, identified as Hashem Ali, Gias Uddin, and Abdul Matalab, with 11,520 SPSPHEN Plus capsules and 1,728 ONEREEX cough syrup bottles on Tuesday.
