Smuggler shot at while trying to escape in Dhubri

A CORRESPONDENT

DHUBRI: A veteran cattle and narco smuggler, Sahidur Rehman was shot at in the leg while trying to escape from the police at Jhagrarpar Part IV village under Dhubri Police Station on Sunday. He was seriously injured.

A police source said that he was admitted in Dhubri Civil Hospital. Rahman was arrested in connection with Case No 1929/21 U/S 379/411 IPC R/W sec.13 of Assam cattle preservation Act R/W sec 22(c) NDPS Act registered in Dhubri Police Station, source further informed.
