Sodau Asom Mattak Sanmilan General Secretary Kajal Gohain Expelled

TINSUKIA: The Sodau Asom Mattak Sanmilan (SAMS) in a meeting held at Sarbananda Singha Nagar head office in Borguri near Tinsukia on Thursday formally expelled its general secretary Kajal Gohain, a firebrand anti-CAA activist after he joined BJP at a programme in Chabua recently. The meeting chaired by Chandra Senapati resolved to curtail his primary membership and asked him to submit expenditure statement within 7 days else legal steps would be initiated against him, the organization warned. The meeting has also exempted him from issuing Mattak caste certificate incapacity of general secretary and declared the caste certificate issued by Kajal Gohain after February 1, 2020, null and void. Kiran Rajkhowa, assistant general secretary, has been appointed as acting general secretary of SAMS.
