Sonitpur district administration issued guidelines for opening of shops in rural areas

Tezpur: As per decision of the State-level Empowered Committee meeting on COVID-19 held on April 28 regarding opening of shops in rural areas in the Green and Orange Zones (except containment areas), the Sonitpur district administration has issued the following conditions/ guidelines for compliance by all shopkeepers until further notice.

As per the guidelines issued, only standalone shops will be allowed to operate; no markets, haats or bazaars will be allowed to open; maintaining of social distancing of minimum 2 metres is mandatory; shopkeepers shall try to ensure arrangement of sanitizer for customers at the entry point of shops; use of masks by shopkeepers and staff has been made mandatory; there will be only one entry and one exit or a common entry and exit for customers; shopkeepers will have to make circles using paint and markers at a distance of minimum two metres and they will ensure that the customers stand only in these circles with only one customer standing in one circle; the shopkeeper will employ minimum workforce at the shop; and all beauty parlours/ saloons will remain closed till further notice. The timing for operation of all shops will be 9am to 5pm.
