Sonitpur district Sahitya Sabha organized Poets' meet

JAMUGURIHAT: Poets' meet was organized by Sonitpur district Sahitya Sabha in collaboration with Jamuguri branch, Sonitpur district Yuba Sangsad and Kabi Sanmilan sub-committee of the literary body at Surjoday Bhavan, Jamugurihat with Basudev Sarma, president of the district literary body in the chair.

The meeting began with the Sabha song followed by briefing of the objectives of the meeting by Dulal Nath, district secretary of the literary body. Basav Bhuyan, secretary of Jamuguri branch of Axam Xahitya Xabha, forwarded a welcome address. The poetry session began with a welcome address by Sharanan Deva Nath, the executive president of Kabi Sanmilan sub-committee of the district committee. Mahendra Kumar Nath, the central executive member of the literary body who graced the occasion as chief guest, addressed the gathering.

Attending the meeting as an observer, Siddhartha Sankar Kalita delivered a lecture on modern trends and techniques of Assamese poetry and unique trends of Assamese poetry as well.
