TEZPUR: To commemorate India's 75 years of Independence, Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav is being celebrated across the country. On this occasion, Frontier Headquarters SSB, Tezpur organized a cycle rally on Wednesday at Circuit House, Tezpur.

The rally was flagged off by chief guest of the event, Lt. General Ravin Khosla, AVSM, SM, VSM, GOC 4 Corps in the presence of Pradeep Kumar Gupta, Inspector General, Frontier Headquarter, Tezpur, Vice-Chancellor of Tezpur University, Prof VK Jain, Deputy Commissioner Bhupesh Chandra Das and other dignitaries. This cycle rally will cover a distance of 2,384 km from Tezpur (Assam) to Rajghat, New Delhi. The rally begun its journey on Wednesday from Old Circuit House, Tezpur and will travel to RTC SSB, Salonibari via 68th Bn SSB, Debendranagar, 23 Bn SSB, Lalpool, 37th Bn SSB, Mangaldoi, 24 Bn SSB, Rangia, including three historical places related to India's freedom struggle situated in Mangaldoi like Gandhi Smriti Park, Dr. Bhupen Hazarika Park and Clock Tower.

After reaching 24th Bn SSB, Rangia it will be accompanied by cycle rally team of SSB's Guwahati Frontier and then both the teams will move together onwards. The rally will travel to various States touching various places related to India's freedom struggle and will finally close at Rajghat, New Delhi on October 2.

The objective of this cycle rally is to induce a sense of patriotism amongst every citizen of this country, to remind them of the sacrifices made by the freedom fighters and to make them aware about various government welfare schemes. It also aims to create awareness among the citizens about Fit India Movement, precautions about COVID-19 pandemic and vaccination.
