NAGAON: State Agriculture Minister Atul Bora on Wednesday visited various flood-ravaged areas under Nagaon assembly constituency and reviewed the entire situation. During the visit, the minister also visited various relief camps set up respectively at Ujaragaon, Uriagaon, Nonoi Chakorigaon, Ghagrial, Tulsimukh, Borkula, Dakshinpat, Borjoha, Mahmoria and spent the whole day with the inmates of those flood relief camps. He inspected the facilities, including medical, food materials, sanitary, etc and also took stock of the hardships faced in the relief camps by the inmates and also asked them whether they were getting food and other facilities in the relief camps on time or not.
While interacting with the inmates, the minister assured that the State Government would ensure more food and other facilities soon in almost all flood relief camps set up by the district administration. Besides, he assured the government will leave no stone unturned for immediate rehabilitation of those flood hit families.
During his visit, the minister was accompanied by local MLA Rupak Sarma, additional chief secretary to Agriculture Department, Deputy Commissioner, Nagaon, district agriculture officer, concerned circle officer.
In a review meet with the district agriculture officials, the minister ensured over 90 hectares of farmland for community nursery so that the department concerned could supply paddy saplings to the farmers of the flood-ravaged areas of the district soon after the flood.
