TEZPUR: State Health and Family Welfare and Irrigation Minister, as well as local MLA, Ashok Singhal, undertook a daylong visit to Dhekiajuli constituency and participated in several important programmes on Thursday.

The minister began his schedule by distributing smartphones to Anganwadi workers at a programme held at Trimurti Bhawan in Dhekiajuli. He also attended the World Environment Day celebration organized at Loknayak Omiya Kumar Das College. In the afternoon, he visited flood-hit areas in Chitalmari, assessing the situation and interacting with affected residents.

Speaking at the smartphone distribution event, the minister praised the dedication of Anganwadi workers, noting that their tireless efforts play a crucial role in community development. “This initiative aims to empower frontline workers and improve grassroots service delivery. The smartphones will help ensure quicker reporting, better monitoring of maternal and child health, and more efficient implementation of welfare schemes,” he said.

At the World Environment Day celebration, Minister Singhal planted a sapling and engaged in a conversation with students, encouraging them to take active roles in environmental preservation and awareness.
