Street Library Unveiled

SARUPATHAR, Sept 5: Lauding the initiative of Prantosh Das Foundation in association with the Dhansiri subdivision police administration, a street library was inaugurated in Sarupathar town under Golaghat district. The street library will be an open cultural space accessible from the street and is an invitation to share the joy of reading with the public who have a keen interest in books.

Trinayan Bhuyan, Subdivisional Police Officer of Dhansiri Subdivision said that such initiative would encourage the youths to read more, as the books in the street library are made available for free. The street library will have a large variety of Indian books like novels, competitive exam books, children's story books, biographies, etc. It intends to revive the art of reading, making books/reading materials easily accessible to folks, driving positive action and change; thereby engaging in community development.
