Students excelling in HSLC & HS exams feted by Lahoal Regional Development Committee

LAKHIMPUR: Two meritorious students named Bastab Borah and Sewali Hatibaruah who passed the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) and Higher Secondary (HS) final exams respectively with flying colours this year were feted by Batsora, Amudborbari, Bhet-toli and Lahoal Regional Development Committee on Saturday.

On this occasion, a felicitation ceremony was organized at the Basudev Than Batsoramukh Prathomik Sakha Namghar with the Development Committee president Nilamoni Baruah. Secretary Digen Kaman explained the objective of the programme.

The meritorious students were feted with a citation, cash of Rs 5,000 to each and phulam gamosa. Notably, the Development Committee concerned felicitates the highest scorers in the HSLC and HS exams from the area of its jurisdiction every year in a view to encouraging the students to progress in their academic journey. A galaxy of prominent persons of the area was present in the programme.

On the other hand, the Obonori regional unit of Takam Mising Porin Kebang (TMPK), led by president Ranoj Pegu and secretary Dimbanath Kaman on Sunday, felicitated more than 45 meritorious students passing the HSLC and HS exams bringing laurels to Subansiri area. Notably, the organization has not organized any public programme for the occasion in view of COVID-19 pandemic situation and feted the students visiting door to door. MAC Member Indira Sintey Kumbang snd TMPK Dhakuakhana district president Bhupen Doley along with other dignitaries of the organization also took part in the programme.
