Talk on New Education Policy 2020 held in Tinsukia

TINSUKIA: The Department of Political Science, Tinsukia College organized a popular talk on 'New Education Policy 2020 with special emphasis on Higher Education' on Wednesday.

The faculty members from District Institute of Education & Training (DIET), Durgeswar Saikia and Chandra Kumar Dahal, acted as resource persons. Chaired by Dr Roshmi Dutta, Head of the Political Science department, the programme was well attended, particularly by students for whom the talk was intended.

Saikia, while outlining the overall view of the policy, said that it was essential that an identical set of skills and values must be incorporated in each stage of learning. He added further that recognizing, identifying and fostering the unique capabilities of each student by sensitizing teachers to promote holistic development was the main vision of NEP-2020.

In his deliberation, Dahal spoke on the changes that were likely to be brought about in knowledge creation and innovation, thereby contributing to growth in national economy. Dr Ranjan Kumar Das, Vice- Principal, and Dr Kamalesh Kalita of the Geography department also spoke on the occasion.
