Tangla gears up for biennial conference of electricity workers' union

TANGLA: Preparations are on in full swing at Tangla in Udalguri district to host the 30th biennial conference of Assam State Electricity Workers' Union, which is affiliated to the Electricity Employees Federation of India.

The three-day long conference will begin from January 5 at Bordoloi Bhavan premises, which will be attended by nearly 200 members of the union from across the State. A reception committee to this effect has already swung into action with Syed Abdul Mussabir (Idul) as president, Bipul Boro as working president and Lalit Kumar Baglari as general secretary along with various sub-committees. The open session will be attended as appointed speaker by Paneri legislator Kamali Basumatari. The souvenir Shakti Kantha will be released by Head of the Department of Assamese, Tangla College, Ghateswar Baruah. In the evening, noted singer Bipin Chawdang will enthral the gathering. The last day of the session will conclude with a delegate session.
