Three-day drama festival concludes in Tezpur

The 15th Annual Natya Samrat Prafulla Borah Memorial Drama Festival organized by Abadan

TEZPUR: The 15th Annual Natya Samrat Prafulla Borah Memorial Drama Festival organized by Abadan, a socio cultural organization of Tezpur in association with the Directorate of Cultural Affairs concluded at Ban Theatre on Monday. Several prolific plays were staged at the festival which began with 'Dhumuhar Anisa' presented by Abadan.

It was written by Dr Bhupen Saikia and directed by veteran actor, writer and director Pramath Das and the lead role was played by noted stage and cine actor Mridul Chutia.

The festival was formally inaugurated by veteran stage actor, Bhabani Nath and Officer in charge, Jyoti Bharati, Jiten Das inaugurated the concluding ceremony.

The programme started with lighting of the earthen lamp to the Natya Samrat Prafulla Borah by Anshuman Borah, son of Prafulla Borah, and it was followed by floral tributes to the Natya Samrat by president and secretary of Abadan, Pramath Das and Bhupen Kataki and other dignitaries.
