RANGIA: Acting on a tip-off Rangia Police headed by Rangia OC Bhaskar Malla Patowary apprehended three miscreants from Nuruddin Road, Rangia and recovered two ivories from their possession. According to the OC, the miscreants namely Kishore Baro (24) of Changsari, Dhruba Deka (24) and Chiranjit Bezbaruah (19) from Boragaon village under Kamalpur Police Station of Kamrup District came to Rangia to sell the ivory. Police seized both the ivories weighing 685 grams, two motor cycles and two mobile handsets. After interrogation, police handed over the miscreants including the seized items to the North Kamrup forest division on Sunday. The forest department lodged a case under 939/44/49 under Wildlife Protection Act.
