Three persons die of COVID in Sonitpur district

TEZPUR: Three persons lost their lives due to COVID-19 in Sonitpur district. They have been identified as Babul Chandra Ghosh (72), Namanigaon, Rangapara, Nirupama Doloi (74), Polofield, Tezpur town and Father Sudhir Minj (55), taking the death toll to 21 in the district during the second wave of the pandemic. On Monday, 170 fresh COVID-19 cases were detected in Sonitpur district, thereby increasing the total number of active cases in the district during the second wave to 1,124. The total number of COVID deaths in the district increased to 41 since May of the last year till today.
