DIGBOI: Following the recent delimitation exercise in the state of Assam, Tingrai in Assam’s Tinsukia district would witness its maiden Independence Day celebration under the official discretion of the Digboi Co-District Commissioner. This was informed by Digboi Legislator Suren Phukan after he attended a meeting with various administrative officials and other stakeholders here at Tingrai general playground on Tuesday.

The meeting mainly discussed the two agendas of formal inauguration of the Office of the Co-District Commissioner on August 12 and the celebration of the ensuing red letter day on August 15 at Tingrai under the administrative care of the Co-District Commissioner.

The temporary office of the Co-District Commissioner would be set up within the premises of Tingrai general playground.

Preparations are being made with full enthusiasm under the leadership of local MLA Suren Phukan for the opening the Co-District Commissioner’s office in Digboi and celebrating the upcoming Independence Day as a co-district. Meanwhile, the administrative officials informed that a full-fledged and detailed agenda of the Independence Day celebration was chalked out at length to mark the event significantly.

Rahul Doley, the Digboi Co-District Commissioner, Pankaj Chamua, the Additional Commissioner, and Binti Sharma, the School Inspector, along with the representatives of the line departments were also present in the crucial meeting.
