TINSUKIA: Along with other divisions of Railways, the Tinsukia Railway Division initiated massive technological transformation to fillip safety and comfort for the railway commuters. Announcing a slew of developmental projects, the Divisional Railway Manager Tinsukia highlighted Railway Ministry's vision towards quality service, updated technologies etc.

Addressing a press meet at conference hall on Thursday, the DRM Tinsukia Bijaya Kumar Mishra said that the Division had prioritized three agenda - Start-Ups for Railways, e-auction and OSOP (One Station One Product). Elaborating the Start-Ups policy, Mishra informed that the programme would bring scale and efficiency in the field of operation and maintenance etc. while presenting problem statements before the Start-Ups to find innovative solutions, adding that in Tinsukia division, 11 problem statements like fracture and headway reduction have been taken up for phase-I of the programme. In respect of e-auction, Mishra stated that the e-auction would facilitate quick finalization of contract for commercial earning and non-fare revenue without direct intervention of bidders. To encourage sale of indigenous and specialized products through OSOP at sale outlets in Railway stations, the DRM informed that in Tinsukia division out of 43 stations, the scheme has been launched with success in five major stations.

In the revenue front, the Tinsukia division has made significant earning and scaled up its revenue from Rs 264.14 crore in 2020-2021 to Rs 333.61 crore in 2021-2022 (till May) and expected to boost up further revenue after Coal India resumes operation, said Mishra, adding that electrification had started from Furkating with an estimated budget of Rs 470 crore. The press meet was attended by ADRM K Singson, senior DCM Swaraj Pradhan, besides other railway officials of the Division.
