LAKHIMPUR: Takam Mising Porin Kebang (TMPK- All Mising Students' Union) will script legend of its constitution of 50 years in 2021. Constituted in 1971, the students' organization of the Mising community, the second largest ethnic tribe of the State, has relentlessly endeavoured for the betterment, reformation of the native society as well as for the resolution of the problems of the native people during the last 49 years.

On Sunday, the organization held a large public meeting in Dhakuakhana in order to discuss over the strategies in order to celebrate the forthcoming golden jubilee year. The meeting was organized under the aegis of Dhakuakhana district unit of TMPK at Kherkota College premises located at Matmora in association with Mising Mimag Kebang (MMK) and Takam Mising Mime Kebang (TMMK).

Attending the programme, Mising Autonomous Council chairperson Sunil Kumar Pegu, TMPK adviser Indra Kumar Chungkrang, former general secretary Padma Losan Doley, former president Hemeswar Pegu, former vice-president Dinesh Doley, present president Raj Kumar Morang, secretaries Tilak Doley, Biju Pegu, education secretary Ridip Jack Doley, literature secretary San Kumar Panging delivered speech chalking out strategies to celebrate the golden jubilee year.

After detailed discussion, the organization decided to celebrate the same with year-long programmes. As per plan, the inaugural ceremony of the golden jubilee celebration will be held at Jonai of Dhemaji district while the second programme will be held in Dhakuakhana. The next programmes will be held at Majuli, Silapothar, Gogamukh in a befitting manner. In the same meeting, a celebration committee, with Sunil Kumar Pegu as president and Indra Kumar Chungkrang as secretary, was formed to organize the second programme of the golden jubilee celebration to be held in Dhakuakhana.
