Total 5,305 persons affected by flood in Chirang district

BONGAIGAON: Total 11 villages under two revenue circles have been affected by flood in Chirang district. Gagan Narzary, DIPRO, Chirang said that total 5,305 people and total 1984.16 hectares crop had been affected in the district. "The affected villages are Odalguri No 1 & 2 , Sanyasibari No 2, Nadiyapara, Kashdoba, Fagunagaon, Kumargaon, Chowrabari, Dwimuguri and Kujrabguri no 1 & 2 . Two relief camps at Nadiyapara LPS and Nadiyapara Club have been opened where till now 180 inmates are there. The bundh from Choto Amguri to Sanyasiguri has been eroded and the sluice gate at Thairajhar has also been washed away. Relief has been distributed among the affected people. No animals have been injured or washed away till now," he said.
