Guwahati: Due to the steady and alarming rise of COVID-19 cases across Assam, the administration of Gogamukh village under the Dhemaji district has decided to impose total lockdown, commencing from today onwards. This lockdown will come to an end on July 10, next.

The Dhemaji district administration took this step to arrest the spread of the virus, which has continued to spread its tentacles in the nook and corners of Assam. At the same time, Dhemaji's administration has also been hit by the flood whammy, as the Upper Assam district is one of the worst affected in the second spate of floods in the state.
