TINSUKIA: To make departments more accountable and responsive, a day-long training programme on the modalities of Assam Right to Public Service (ARTPS) Act & Rules was held at the conference hall of the DC office, Tinsukia on Thursday under the aegis of Tinsukia district administration with ADC Sushanta Dutta in the chair. The Act enacted on January 26, 2021, came into effect on April 19, 2013.

The training programme was held in three phases comprising of circle officers of Tinsukia, Sadiya, Doomdooma and Margherita; BDOs of Guijan, Hapjan, Itakhuli, Kakopathar, Sadiya, Margherita and Saikhowa and officials and staff of all line departments, besides staff of Tinsukia and Makum municipalities. Senior Agricultural Development officer Rajit Dutta and Assistant Professor of Tinsukia Commerce College, Ritu Singh acted as resource persons who deliberated on the Act that provides for delivery of notified public services to the people of Assam within the stipulated time limit.
