MAJULI: Transport Minister Chandra Mohan Patowary received two boats –MV Rajlakshmiand RPL Digaru at Nimatighat on September 18. These two boats have been fitted with new double engines that has the power of 200 HP each.

"Two Ro-Paxand one vessel MV Panei are in already in operation. Meanwhile one catamaran MV Lohit and onerescue and survey boat SDB Vikrantare on the way to Majuli from Guwahati which was flagged off by Chief Minister yesterday. With these two new boats introduced today, in total six vessels will be in operation for the residents of Majuli,"informed Minister Patowary.

Transport Minister Patowary added the introduction of two night bus services from Majuli-Lakhimpur-Dibrugarh-Jorhat and one night bus service from Jorhat-Dibrugarh-Lakhimpur-Majuli for people who do not want to travel by water transport. In addition, four bus services from Majuli to Jorhat have begun for the convenience of the people of Majuli, stated an official press release.
