JAMUGURIHAT: The 9th triennial conference of All Adivasi Students’ Association of Assam (AASAA) and a felicitation programme was held at Gela Hatinga TE, Itakhola with a two-day programme recently. The programme convened by the Naduar regional committee of AASAA in collaboration with the general public of the area was held at the Birsa Munda auditorium.
The first day’s programme began with delegate sessions and other organizational activities. The second day’s programme began with hoisting of the institutional flag by Ananta Kujur, President of land management committee of Sonitpur district committee. It was followed by a motorcycle rally which was taken out from Gela Hatinga to Itakhola and Soibari area. A felicitation programme was then held wherein meritorious students who passed the recently-declared HSLC and HS examinations, besides other meritorious students who brought laurels to the community, were accorded felicitation by the organizers with gamosa, citation, and a packet of books.
The open session was attended by Amarjit Kerketa, President of Sonitpur district committee of AASAA, and Ishak Lakra, Central Games Secretary, along with other dignitaries. Daniel Karad and Nipen Orang, President and Secretary of the Naduar regional committee of AASAA, thanked all concerned for the cooperation.
