Two candidates file nomination papers for the upcoming polls in Tezpur

TEZPUR: Two candidates filed nomination papers on Monday for the upcoming polls to the Assam Legislative Assembly under Tezpur Election District, which will go for polls in the first phase to be held on March 27.

While Nayanmoni Choudhury of the Socialist Unity Centre of India (Communist) filed his nominations for the 73-Tezpur LAC before Returning Officer of the constituency-cum-DEO Manvendra Pratap Singh, Padma Hazarika of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) filed his nomination papers before Returning Officer to 75-Sootea LAC, Satyajt Chetia.

The last day for filing nominations is March 9 and the nominations will be scrutinized on March 10 and the last date of withdrawal of papers has been fixed on March 12.
