Two child scientists selected for State-level aptitude test

DOOMDOOMA: Under the auspices of Assam Science, Technology and Environment Council (ASTEC) and in association with National Children Science Congress (NCSC) Tinsukia District Organizing Committee, an aptitude test was held at Rupai ME School on Sunday among the child scientists of the district who took part in the NCSC district-level event last year.

It was organized in consonance with National Science Day where altogether 41 child scientists studying in Class IX in various schools of Saikhowa, Talap, Rupaisiding, Doomdooma, Kakapather, Phillobari and Pengeri Bordumsa zone sat for the test. Of them, Nibir Chutiya (Kailashpur High School) and Praranjit Sonowal (Phillobari High School) were selected for the State-level Ability Test to be held in Guwahati on February 27 and February 28.

The Director, North East Institute of Science and Technology (NEIST), Jorhat declared in State-level NCSC conference held at Rangajan, near Doomdooma in November last year that NEIST would sponsor 20 child scientists of the State for participating in the science workshop during summer and winter vacation. Academic Coordinator Manoranjan Sonowal was present as Controller of Examination. He was assisted by Utpal Pujari, Bikash Dutta and Akash Gogoi as observers. The District Coordinator Diganta Bhajani explained to the students about the examination in detail.
