Two officials of L&T arrested by Dhubri police

DHUBRI: Two officials of L&T were arrested by Dhubri police on Friday in connection with the boat mishap near Bhasanichar in Brahmaputra river where Dhubri-Phulbari bridge is being constructed.

Dhubri police registered a case in Dhubri Police Station on Friday against the two L&T officials Rajesh Yadav, 46 and Harish Tiwari, 56 and subsequently, they were arrested and forwarded to the Dhubri court.

Officer-In-Charge of Dhubri Police Station, Mahadeb Bagchi informed The Sentinel that a case was registered against L&T officials on duty at the time of boat mishap based on initial report gathered by police. "They were booked under section341/353/294/304/308/34 IPC RWS 51 (a)(b) of Disaster Management Act 2005", Bagchi added. Dhubri Circle Officer Sanju Das, who went missing in the boat mishap is still untraceable.
