Two polling officials suspended in Tinsukia

TINSUKIA: Two employees of Handlooms & Textiles under O/O the Superintendent of Handloom & Textile, Tinsukia have been placed under suspension with immediate effect for dereliction of election duties by the Director of Handlooms & Textiles Assam, Guwahati on Friday under Section (26) of RP Act 1951 vide official order nos. DHTE 191/97/40 and DHTE 192/92/ 186 of 26.3.2021. Bikash Das Boro, Inspector Handloom & Textile Weaver Extension Service Unit Meghela, and Bimal Kr Saharia, Instructor, Handloom & Textile Training Centre Dangori, remained absent in training on two consecutive days, as reported by the Deputy Commissioner Tinsukia vide no TPC/ Assembly Election/Show cause/ 2021/13 of 25.3.2021. Bikash Das Boro and Bimal Kr Saharia were appointed as Presiding Officer and Polling Officer respectively by the Deputy Commissioner-cum- District Election Officer Tinsukia for the ensuing Assembly Election, 2021. They were further directed not to leave the last place of duty without prior permission.
